WHO study says there is no link between mobile phone radiation and brain cancer

The World Health Organization (WHO) has found no link between mobile phone use and brain cancer. Reuters According to WHO, the WHO has analysed the data of 63 studies conducted between 1994 and 2022. It was concluded that there is no link between radiofrequency (RF) radiation emitted from mobile phones and brain cancer. Researchers studied several types of cancer including brain cancer, pituitary gland cancer, salivary gland cancer, leukemia etc.

The use of mobile phones has increased manifold in the last few decades. Now people use mobile phones for longer periods of time and in greater numbers than before. But there has been no significant increase in the cases of brain cancer. This means that mobile radiation cannot be the cause of brain cancer. The conclusion drawn from the study is in line with previous research done by WHO and other international health organizations.

Although this latest study definitely gives some reassurance to mobile users, WHO and other health agencies still need to do further studies about any kind of health risk associated with RF radiation.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) still classifies mobile phone radiation as possibly carcinogenic (Group 2B). This means that the link between mobile phone use and cancer risk cannot be completely ruled out.
