According to a PTI report, the Defence Ministry said that the DRDO has successfully completed six consecutive trials of ‘Abhyas’ called ‘High Speed Expendable Aerial Target’ (HEAT) with advanced ‘booster configuration’ from the ‘Integrated Test Range’ located at Chandipur.
According to the ministry, the successful flight tests have paved the way for the production of ‘Abhyas’ systems, that is, now they will be produced so that Abhyas can be set as a target for testing missile systems in future.
According to the report, ‘Abhyaas’ has successfully completed 10 tests, demonstrating its success. DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) has designed ‘Abhyaas’. It will be produced by ‘Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’ (HAL) and ‘Larsen & Toubro’ (L&T).
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has praised the industry including DRDO for the development tests of ‘Abhyas’. He said that the successful test of Abhyas is a remarkable proof of the synergy between scientists and industry.
