Kia is going to introduce the new Kia Carnival luxury MPV and Kia EV9 luxury SUV in the Indian market today. Both the cars will initially be sold as Complete Built Up Units (CBU). The carmaker has already established itself in the market with popular cars like Sonet, Seltos and Carens. Now these two new cars will increase the company’s presence in the luxury space. Here we are telling you in detail about Kia EV9 and Kia Carnival.

Kia Carnival, Kia EV9 Price

Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of Kia Carnival will be around Rs 50 lakh. The ex-showroom price of Kia EV9 will be around Rs 1 crore. Kia Carnival may compete with Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti Suzuki Invicto, Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster. At the same time, EV9 can compete with Mercedes-Benz EQE and BMW iX.

Kia Carnival includes second row luxury powered relaxation seats with ventilation and leg support, one touch smart power sliding doors, dual sunroof, 12-speaker Bose premium sound system, dual panoramic curved displays, Level 2 ADAS and 23 autonomous features. The EV9 has 18-way driver power seat with memory function, 12-way front passenger power seat, second-row captain seat with 8-way power adjust, second row massage seat, Trinity Panoramic Display, dual sunroof, 10 airbags, Next generation Kia Connect with over 100 features including Vehicle to Load (V2L) and 27 ADAS functionalities.

Kia Carnival will get Smartstream 2.2 liter in-line 4 cylinder E-VGT CRDi engine which will generate power of 193PS and peak torque of 441Nm. The engine will be equipped with 8 speed automatic transmission. Kia EV9 will be based on Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). For the Indian market, Kia has given dual motor with all wheel drive (AWD) in EV9 which will generate power of 384PS and peak torque of 700Nm. This car can accelerate from 0-100kmph in just 5.3 seconds. Its claimed range will be 561km (ARAI). The battery of this car will be charged 10-80% in just 24 minutes through 350kW DC fast charger.
