ISRO Pushpak Viman RVL third landing experiment may be in next week

ISRO Pushpak Viman RVL: India’s space agency ISRO can test its reusable launch vehicle (RLV) once again. If the weather is good, ISRO will try for the third landing with RLV. It is also named Pushpak. According to media reports, all preparations including Pushpak and Chinook helicopters have been done for the third landing. If the weather does not cooperate, the launch test can be postponed to next week.

Testing has been going on for a year

RLV was first tested for landing on 2 April 2023 by ISRO, DRDO and Indian Air Force. Then RLV was released from a height of about five kilometers from a Chinook helicopter. Its second landing test was done on 22 March this year. The purpose of the third landing is to improve the performance, guidance and landing capabilities of the vehicle.

According to a TOI report, S Unnikrishnan Nair, director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC), which developed the RLV, said that we are waiting. The weather is bad right now. The weather is expected to improve by the 14th. If that happens, we can experiment next week. This will be the last landing experiment and after that an attempt will be made to re-enter the orbital.

What will Pushpak do?

RLV, popularly known as Pushpak Viman, is a kind of space shuttle. When it is ready, satellites and cargo will be delivered to space with its help. It is being completely developed in the country. When its bigger version is ready, the hopes of reaching space will increase.

Having a reusable launch vehicle can reduce India’s space launch expenditure. America’s private space company ‘SpaceX’ has been using reusable launch vehicles for a long time.
