iPad May be Available for less than Rs 19,000, Apple Planning to Manufacture iPads in India

Big Billion Days Sale of Flipkart, one of the biggest e-commerce companies, is going to start soon. The starting date of this sale has not been announced. However, information about some offers in this sale has been received through online leaks. It will compete with Amazon’s Great Indian Festival Sale starting this month.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav has said in a post on social media platform X that Flipkart Apple’s iPad, introduced in 2021, can be purchased at a huge discount in the sale. A screenshot shared with this post states that the price of this tablet can be less than Rs 19,000. However, this price is likely to include bank offers. Apple launched the iPad three years ago at an initial price of around Rs 30,000.

This iPad has a 10.2-inch display with LCD panel. It has the same A13 Bionic chip as the iPhone 11. This tablet has a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera with 122-degree field of view and Center Stage support. It also supports Apple Pencil and Apple’s Smart Keyboard along with third-party keyboards. It was given iPadOS 15 and will also get the upcoming iPadOS 18 update. This iPad can be charged with Apple’s 20 W power adapter.

Apple’s contract manufacturer Foxconn is planning to expand its business in the country. It is exploring the possibility of assembling iPad. Foxconn and other Apple contract manufacturing firms have been assembling iPhones in the country for the past few years. The iPhone 15 series launched last year has been assembled at Foxconn’s factory near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. Recently, a media report quoted sources as saying that Foxconn is considering starting the assembly of iPad at its factory. A source said, “Foxconn has a target to double its manufacturing. This will include iPhone, iPad and some other products as well.” Manufacturing these Apple tablets in the country will not be difficult as the capability required for them is similar to the assembly of smartphones.
