Support for 110 more languages ​​is now available in Google Translate. The company has rolled out the latest update in Google Translate, after which 110 new languages ​​are now supported. This will make it easier to understand languages ​​that are related to each other i.e. there are different forms of the same language. Earlier, the translation tool used to support 133 languages, but after the expansion, now support for 143 languages ​​​​is available in it. In November 2022, the company announced that it would support 1000 languages ​​​​in the tool. These 110 languages ​​​​added are part of the same announcement.

The special thing is that to choose the new language, Google has given priority to the most used variety of a language. That is, if a language has different dialects in a country, then the most popular dialects have now been added to the translate tool along with that language. For example, different dialects of the Romani language are spoken in Europe. So in such a situation, the AI ​​model of Google Translate will choose the Southern Vlax Romani language which is a common variety used online.

Now Cantonese language has also been added to it. Google says that this language is one of the most requested to be added to Google Translate. Afar, spoken in Djibouti, Eritrea, and Ethiopia, has also been added to the tool now. A quarter of all the 110 new languages ​​added are from Africa.
