According to Bloomberg report, this case has been filed in California, USA by Christine Jong and Samantha Salgado. It states that if the company decides how much package should be given to the new employee on the basis of the salary of the previous job, then women can get less salary, even if they are doing the same work as men. These two women employees who have filed a case against the company want to represent many other women who are currently working in Apple or have worked in the past.
It is reported in this report that Samantha had raised apprehensions about salary inequality several times. However, Apple increased her salary only after a third-party investigation confirmed the difference in her salary and that of her male colleagues, but Samantha did not receive her previous salary. Apple has not commented on this case.
