A report by Android Authority AccordingThe new developer preview of the operating system includes a multitasking system based on Open Canvas of OnePlus. This will be a large upgrade for large-screen devices and foldable, as OnePlus’s open canvas is considered better for the best multitasking tools and split-screen facilities on a large scale.
Android 16 can facilitate users to open three apps simultaneously on the tablet. Two apps take 90 percent of the screen in OnePlus system, while the third app is seen in the remaining 10 percent. An easy tap on the small window brings it into the focus, making the layout easily replaced. It seems that Google is testing a similar feature in Android 16.
The code seen in Android 16 DP2 reveals an in-development flexibility split-screen mode. Mishal Rahman of Android Authority managed to use this feature on his pixel device. However, he has made it clear that it is not yet ready and currently does not split the apps properly.
Google is still testing this feature and it is not clear whether this filing will be ready for Android 16. If it is completed on time, it can be offered on all Android phones and tablets. Companies like Samsung can use these features especially for their book style foldable. In the first half of this year of Android 16, platform can reach stability and be introduced finally at the end of the year. If this feature is finalized, users can get it through manufacturer updates.
