Aadhar Card Free Updates last date extended till 14th September 2024 follow these online steps

Aadhar card The last date for updating the Aadhaar card for free has been extended again. This date was ending on 14 June i.e. today. In a tweet, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has said that the last date for updating the Aadhaar card has been extended to 14 September 2024. Address proof can be updated in the Aadhaar card for free for the next three months. Along with that, information like name, date of birth, mobile number, photo and biometric details can be updated. This decision of the government will give an opportunity to those people who have not got any update done in their Aadhaar in the last 10 years.

Nowadays, most Indians are using Aadhar Card as an ID proof document. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the organization that issues Aadhar Card, had appealed to the people to get their Aadhar Card updated. Doing so is necessary for those who have got it made 10 years ago and have not updated it yet. UIDAI says that people will have to get the proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) verified. The facility of free Aadhar card update will be available only on the myAadhar portal. This work can be done by visiting the CSC center for a fee of Rs 50.

You can apply online

To update the address in the Aadhaar card, you have to apply online through the myAadhaar portal. If you face any problem in this process, you can also update the details offline. For this, you will have to go to the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre.

follow these steps

  • Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/ Go to.
  • Type your Aadhaar number and enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number.
  • A page with many options will open in front of you, you have to click on ‘Online Update Services’.
  • After this go to Update Aadhar Online. Here you can make changes in name, address of data etc. Click on Proceed to Update Aadhar.
  • A new window will appear in front of you. By clicking here you can proceed to update the name and address. Click on ‘Address’ and proceed further.
  • Now the window that will appear in front of you will have your current address. When you scroll down in the window, you will get the option to fill in the details of the new address.
  • To update the address, you will have to provide a valid supporting document. These include voter ID, marriage certificate, passport, school ID card etc. The document can be uploaded manually or from DigiLocker.
  • Similarly, you will have to follow the further steps and complete the process till payment. Since we did not have to change the address, we did not follow the further steps.
  • According to the information, when the request for Aadhaar update is accepted, you will get a 14 digit URN. With its help, you will be able to check your status.
