The Indian Army propels towards zero-emission by introducing 113 electric buses

The Indian Army has purchased 113 electric buses for the transportation of troops, reflecting the government’s efforts to move the country towards green initiatives. These 40-seater buses have been given the appearance of army transport from the outside as well. The green electric buses can be mistaken for special army vehicles. These buses can reportedly give a range of 250 km on a single charge. They will be deployed in special plain and semi-hill areas.

According to news agency (via TOI) The Indian Army has purchased 113 electric buses, with which the army has now taken a big step towards the green and clean initiative. Electric buses can run up to 250 kilometers on a full charge. They have been painted dark green from outside to give them the look of an army vehicle. They have comfortable seats as well as air conditioning system for a comfortable long journey.

These electric buses from different vendors come in various designs and have 40 seats. This procurement is in line with the Government of India’s directive on zero-carbon emissions and is a significant step in the Indian Armed Forces’ journey towards eco-friendly transport solutions. This move by the Army will surely help promote innovation in the defence sector and set a precedent for other government agencies and industries to follow.

An example of the Indian Army moving rapidly towards innovation is a news that came out last year, in which it was told that soon the Indian Army will be provided with a suit that will enable them to fly in the air during battle. Jetpack Suit is a suit that after wearing it, a person starts flying like a jet. Its arms also have engines to control the direction. These will be purchased to be able to fly in the air up to a height of 10 to 15 meters.

Apart from this, it was told in the same report that the army is also focusing on the purchase of drones. All these products will help in increasing the army’s surveillance capability and deploying troops more actively on the border.
