At the annual Google for India event held in Delhi, the company announced improvements in the Google search experience. Earlier, only the phone number was given space in Google listing, on which there was an option to make a call by tapping on it, now along with calling, people will also get the option to connect directly on WhatsApp. Not only this, real-time alerts of flood and fog will come on Google Map, which will prove useful for people during travelling.

The company said that it is bringing the option of personal loan and gold loan on its UPI app Google Pay. It has partnered with Aditya Birla Capital Finance for personal loans and Muthoot Finance for gold loans. With the help of Google Pay, users will be able to take personal loan up to Rs 5 lakh and gold loan up to Rs 50 lakh.

Google says that its DigiKavach initiative saved users from scams worth Rs 13 thousand crores. The company claimed that in the year 2023, more than 41 million alerts were shown to users to avoid scams. The company said that Android users in India will soon get a new ‘fraud protection feature’. Due to this, such apps will not be sideloaded in the phone, which may cause harm to the users.
